Understand how glucose works in your body and why it matters.
Understand Glucose Before You Track It

What is Glucose?
Glucose is sugar in your blood that gives energy to your body. Your brain, muscles, and organs use it to work properly.
Why is Glucose Important?
When glucose stays balanced, you feel more active and stable. When it goes too high or too low, it can affect your health and daily life.
What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is when your body cannot manage blood sugar properly. It may happen when your body makes less insulin or cannot use insulin well.
What is CGM?
CGM stands for Continuous Glucose Monitoring. It helps you track your glucose all day and night, not just at one check.
How Does CGM Measure Glucose?
A tiny sensor sits under the skin and checks glucose from the fluid around your cells. The readings are then sent to your app through the transmitter.
Understanding the Time Lag
CGM and finger-prick readings may not always match at the exact same moment. That's because a finger-prick checks glucose from blood, while CGM measures glucose from the fluid under your skin.

Flat Path
When glucose is steady
When your glucose is stable, CGM and blood glucose readings are usually very close. At this stage, there is little difference because your glucose is not changing quickly.

Climbing Up
When glucose is rising
After a meal, glucose may rise quickly in the blood first. Since CGM measures glucose from body fluid, it may take a little time to catch up — so the CGM reading can appear slightly lower for a short time.
